Lifegroups

Why Life groups

We at Churton Park Anglican Church aim to be a vibrant, growing, small group based church. Just as people did in the early church, we are encouraged to meet regularly in small groups for fellowship with each other and with Christ, and then to meet corporately as a congregation each Sunday to celebrate in Worship.

What are Life groups

They are any group of two or three or more people who gather together with the objective of Churton Park Anglican Church To Connect People And Christ. They are dynamic and fertile for growth, and they provide an environment where people can develop significant relationships with each other and with Christ

They include music/worship groups, men's and women's groups, youth groups, home groups, and a number of others.

What Life groups do

They provide opportunities:

  •  for the development of friendships
  •  for fun and laughter
  •       for social activities
  •  for meeting together for a common purpose or interest
  •   to encourage each other
  •   to care about and for each other
  •     to welcome newcomers and offer friendship
  •  to develop relationships with others and with Christ
  •    to exercise friendship evangelism

Lifegroups are a priority focus in our church and are places where:

  • We can be ourselves and we, our family, and friends are cared for
  • newcomers are always welcomed.
  • We learn from each other and sensitively encourage each other to participate
  • We can share anything on our heart knowing that confidences are  kept within the groupnone of our questions are pushed aside, and where our doubts can be freely expressed
  • We worship and praise God
  • We are active in our prayer for others as well as ourselves
  • Our faith in God is encouraged and nurtured through bible study, prayer,  and discussion
  • Our spiritual gifts are developed and exercised
  • We are encouraged and equipped to live out the message of  God's love, hope, grace, and joy

Lifegroups are places where we try to fulfill both the Great Commission  (to make disciples of all nations, Matt 28:18-20) and the Great Commandment(to love one another, John 13: 34-35).
